In a startling revelation, two women have been apprehended in Palghar district for orchestrating a series of robberies. They allegedly enticed male victims through dating apps, subsequently incapacitating them with sleeping pills to execute the thefts, a senior police official stated on Friday.
The police recovered stolen items valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh from these suspects. According to the Mandvi police station, the illicit operations came to light following a complaint by a 31-year-old victim who was robbed on November 22 at a lodge in Virar West.
To evade law enforcement, the women deleted their dating profiles, and used fake identification and misleading details. The duo is linked to another similar case in Kashimira and faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for theft and other related offenses.
