A 35-year-old resident of central Delhi, Lokesh Chauhan, has been arrested on charges of domestic violence. The arrest followed a police report alleging Chauhan's assault on his wife using an iron rod and threats of gun violence.
The incident unfolded when Chauhan forced his wife to accompany him to his cousin's residence under a suspicion of infidelity. Unable to locate the cousin, Chauhan reportedly attacked his wife upon their return home, escalating the situation by threatening her with a pistol.
Authorities acted swiftly, registering a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. During a search of Chauhan's residence, an illegal firearm was found, the origins of which are currently under investigation. The accused has prior legal entanglements, including offenses related to gambling and disobedience to public orders.
