The Municipal Corporation of Delhi undertook a significant anti-encroachment drive near the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Jhandewalan on Saturday. Structures for which prior notices had been sent were dismantled.
According to MCD sources, the area was deemed dangerous, and while most occupants had evacuated earlier, a few remained. The operation was a coordinated effort between the MCD and the Delhi Development Authority, conducted with adherence to procedures.
Despite the prior issuance of a 45-day notice, some residents failed to comply with the orders. The presence of Delhi Police ensured the action proceeded smoothly, maintaining law and order at the site.
