Police in Odisha's Nayagarh district have successfully dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing unit and apprehended two individuals involved in the operation, according to an official announcement on Sunday.
Acting on specific intelligence, a team from Ranpur police station raided a residence in Godipada village on Saturday evening. The operation uncovered an unauthorized arms manufacturing setup, disclosed Nayagarh's Superintendent of Police, S Susree.
Two country-made firearms and various other weapon-making components were confiscated, along with a motorcycle. Legal proceedings have been launched against the suspects, identified as Tofan Nayak, 21, and Prasant Biswal, 45, both local residents with prior involvement in similar illegal activities. The investigation remains ongoing, added SP Susree.
