In a concerning development, district authorities have initiated disciplinary action against 28 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Bairia tehsil. These officials are accused of negligence during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to a statement from an official on Sunday.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Assistant Electoral Officer Alok Pratap Singh revealed that a review conducted on Saturday found these officers had completed less than a quarter of their assigned tasks. This lack of progress was described as "serious laxity," prompting a formal complaint at the Bairia police station and a request for an FIR against the involved BLOs.

Bairia Circle Officer Mohammad Faheem Qureshi confirmed on Sunday evening that requisite legal actions are being initiated, aiming to address the lapses in the electoral process rigorously.
