Nepal Offers Relief to Flood-Stricken Sri Lanka

Nepal has announced an economic aid package of USD 200,000 to assist with relief and rescue operations in Sri Lanka following devastating floods. The island nation is currently battling widespread flooding and landslides, which have led to infrastructure failures across several districts.
The disaster, triggered by Cyclone Ditwah, has severely tested Sri Lanka's disaster-response capabilities. As of last Sunday, the flooding and landslides had claimed 334 lives, with an additional 370 people reported missing since extreme weather began on November 16.
In a statement released by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal emphasized its firm support for Sri Lanka, citing close bilateral relations as the backdrop for the assistance. The statement also extended heartfelt condolences to affected families and expressed hope for the nation's swift recovery.
