Kerala police have initiated an investigation into an alleged illegal access and online distribution of CCTV footage from government-operated cinema theatres.
The incident surfaced when Managing Director of Kerala State Film Development Corporation lodged a complaint about the footage from KSFDC-run theatres appearing on various websites and social media platforms.
Authorities are probing whether this breach involved hacking the CCTV system or leaking the footage from storage systems. The case has been registered under several sections of Information Technology Act and Kerala Police Act.
