The Kerala High Court on Saturday offered interim protection from arrest for Rahul Mamkootathil, an expelled Congress MLA facing charges of rape and forced abortion.
Justice K Babu announced that the court plans to review Mamkootathil's anticipatory bail plea on December 15, offering the politician a temporary reprieve from arrest.
Advocate S Rajeev, representing the expelled MLA, confirmed the court's decision. However, Mamkootathil is also implicated in a second case involving sexual assault allegations.
