Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extolled the selfless service of home guards, likening their dedication to the principles of 'nishkam seva' from the Bhagvad Gita at the 63rd Home Guards and Civil Defence Raising Day ceremony. He highlighted their essential role in disaster management and supporting law enforcement.

Home guards were praised for their vital contributions during emergencies, with the force rescuing thousands, managing crowds, and maintaining traffic. New initiatives, including the 'Mukhyamantri Adamya Sahasik Karya Puraskar,' were announced to reward conspicuous bravery in rescue operations, reflecting the government's commitment to bolstering their efforts.

The state is set to enhance and expand its support for home guards through better training, permanent housing, and increased manpower for key regions like Ujjain's Mahakal Jyotirlinga. Focusing on modernization and capacity building, Yadav also announced plans for a new training center aimed at improving disaster response skills.
