The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Saturday urged immediate intervention to aid aspirants for the JKAS Preliminary Examination scheduled for Sunday. Widespread travel disruptions and confusion over age relaxation criteria have jeopardized candidates' ability to sit for the test.
IYC national president, Uday Bhanu Chib, has called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to address the challenges faced by a large number of aspirants. Recent airline disruptions have left many stranded and unable to reach their exam centers, despite extensive preparations, he noted.
Highlighting the unfairness of the situation, Chib called for exam postponement and clarity on age relaxation policy, currently mired in confusion. The JKSA echoed this sentiment, citing anxiety among students due to delays in formal policy announcements and urging for transparent communication to ensure equitable exam conditions.
