Digital Trail: Man Booked for Child Pornography on Instagram

A man faces legal actions after 26 child pornography videos were uploaded to his Instagram account. Authorities acted on a cyber tip-off, tracing the account to a local resident. The accused, linked via mobile number, is being investigated under POCSO and IT Act provisions following an FIR.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against a man after officials discovered 26 child pornography videos uploading from his Instagram account. This action follows a cyber tipline report received through the Union Home Ministry's cyber portal.

The mobile number associated with the Instagram account led authorities to the accused, a resident in the Sehramau North police station area. He faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav confirmed a detailed probe is underway, with orders to collect more evidence through the cyber portal.

The cyber crime headquarters in Lucknow initially forwarded the report, which implicated Ritik Shukla in uploading the content on August 28. Although digital evidence has been collected, the accused, now in custody, denies the charges. The case has been escalated to the cyber cell for further investigation.
