Maharashtra Constable Arrested for Rape in Police Station

A constable in Maharashtra's Palghar district has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman inside Kasa police station. The incident occurred last week when the woman went there to give a statement. A case has been filed, and the police station's in-charge has been transferred.

A 40-year-old police constable has been arrested in Maharashtra's Palghar district following allegations of rape against him, officials stated on Monday. The disturbing incident reportedly took place last week at the Kasa police station.

The victim had visited the station to record her statement concerning a separate case. It was during this visit that the constable allegedly committed the crime against her within the station's premises, according to a senior police official.

In response to the woman's complaint, authorities registered a case of rape against the constable and arrested him on Sunday. Meanwhile, the senior official confirmed that the in-charge of the Kasa police station has been transferred from his position.
