A hotel and private mortuary in Nigeria's Imo State, suspected to belong to a kidnapper, were sealed off by police after a raid revealed decomposed corpses, heightening fears of illegal organ-harvesting activities.
Following intelligence reports, police, along with the health commissioner, local officials, and vigilantes, conducted the raid at the Umuhu autonomous community in Ngor-Okpala district. The suspect is now on the run, prompting a detailed investigation into suspected organ-trafficking operations.
During their operation, police also searched the suspect's residence and obtained further evidence. Imo police spokesperson Henry Okoye assured that forensic experts are securing evidence and all accomplices will face justice.
