In a significant breakthrough, the Uttarakhand Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has apprehended a fugitive who evaded capture for seven years. The individual, identified as Anil Kumar Tiwari, was implicated in a major investment fraud case involving a private firm.

Tiwari was detained in Kalyan, Maharashtra's Thane district, on December 7 and has been remanded to Haridwar for further legal proceedings. This arrest follows accusations against Dhanu Agro Limited, where citizens were allegedly defrauded of substantial sums through misleading investments.

The case, with complaints dating back to 2018 in Haridwar, unveiled fraudulent activities amounting to over Rs 12 lakh, implicating the company's directors, including Tiwari. Law enforcement is actively pursuing the co-accused, as multiple criminal charges in different districts intensify the search efforts.
