In a bittersweet moment, several parents welcomed their children back late Tuesday night after they were abducted by gunmen from their school last month.

Among the relieved parents was Luka Illaya, who expressed mixed feelings. One of his sons was released, while another remains with the kidnappers.

The return of these students marks a continuation of distressing mass abductions in Nigeria, with more than 300 individuals taken from the Papiri school alone. Five days prior, 25 students were also seized in Kebbi state.
