Major Drug Bust: Thane Police Seize Mephedrone and Firearm
Thane police have seized mephedrone valued at Rs 10.88 lakh and arrested two individuals in Maharashtra. In the operation, a firearm was confiscated. The main suspect, Akib Iqbal Bagwan, revealed his weapons source, Bharat Shatrudhan Yadav, who was subsequently arrested with a live cartridge.

In a significant action, Thane police in Maharashtra seized mephedrone valued at Rs 10.88 lakh and arrested two individuals, an official announced on Thursday.
Among the seized items was a firearm belonging to one of the arrested individuals. The police operation unfolded in the Kalyan area on December 8 after officials acted on specific inputs, recovering 108.8 grams of the drug from the residence of Akib Iqbal Bagwan. Bagwan was found in possession of a country-made pistol.
Further investigations led officers to Bharat Shatrudhan Yadav, the alleged supplier of the weapon. He was arrested, and a live cartridge was confiscated. A case has been officially registered against both suspects at Manpada police station, confirmed assistant police inspector Sunil Tarmale.
