A traveler arriving from Bangkok at Kempegowda International Airport has been apprehended for allegedly smuggling two endangered Red-Shanked Doucs, according to Customs officials.
The arrest took place on December 10, but the identity of the individual remains undisclosed. Authorities seized the concealed animals.
In a social media update, Bengaluru Customs confirmed the successful interception and subsequent arrest of the smuggler, who had hidden the primates in his checked baggage. Both monkeys have been safely rescued.
