Teen Faces Charges for Blackmail Under POCSO Act

A 16-year-old boy has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after allegedly blackmailing a girl with threats to circulate her intimate images on social media, according to the police.
The charges follow a complaint from the girl's family, who claimed the boy, under the false name 'Himanshu', gained the girl's trust during tuition sessions.
He allegedly attempted to persuade her into marriage through 'nikaah' but threatened her when she refused. The boy is also charged under sections 77 (Voyeurism) and 318 (Cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as police continue their investigation.
