A family of three was found dead in their southeast Delhi home, in what police suspect to be a case of suicide driven by financial stress and eviction pressures. Anuradha Kapoor, 52, and her sons Ashish, 32, and Chaitanya, 27, were discovered hanging in their home, stirring shock in the Kalkaji area.
The police revealed that both sons were unemployed, with Ashish having previously worked as an engineer and Chaitanya preparing for civil service examinations. Mounting financial difficulties had plagued the family, who had not paid their rent of Rs 35,000 for the past one-and-a-half years, compounding their already challenging situation.
Authorities discovered a handwritten note indicating the family's emotional distress, which is believed to have led to the tragic decision. As police continue to investigate, they are interviewing relatives, neighbors, and the landlord to piece together any additional factors that may have contributed to the family's fate. Investigators are also verifying the claims of previous suicide attempts and examining financial records.
