The accused, identified as 21-year-old Hashim, was apprehended after an armed confrontation with law enforcement. The clash turned violent on Friday night, resulting in the death of Tushar Sharma and injuries to his companions.
CCTV footage and eyewitnesses allegedly confirmed Hashim's involvement. Police eventually tracked him down, leading to a gunfight where Hashim sustained a leg injury. Subsequent to his arrest, authorities recovered an illegal weapon. In response to the crime, Bajrang Dal-led protests erupted, with violence shutting down local markets.
