In a significant drug bust, the Punjab Police announced on Sunday the dismantling of a drug supply network with the arrest of three suspects. The Counter Intelligence wing of the Amritsar Police seized four kilograms of heroin, a pistol, five cartridges, and 3.90 lakh rupees in cash from the accused.
The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, reported that preliminary investigations link the accused to a foreign handler, Lakhwinder Singh, and an incarcerated associate, Daya Singh, who is currently in Central Jail. The bust underscores the complex international connections involved in the drug trade.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act in Amritsar, as the Punjab Police intensify efforts to combat drug-related activities.
