In a breakthrough in the decades-old Himgiri Plantation fraud case, police in Chamoli have successfully apprehended Ravindra Mohan, who had been evading arrest for 25 years.
Chamoli Superintendent of Police Surjit Singh Panwar confirmed that Mohan was caught by the Special Operations Group from Phata in Rudraprayag district. The search for his brother and co-accused, Rakesh Mohan, remains ongoing.
The accused duo formed the fraudulent company Himgiri Plantation in 1993, cheating investors of lakhs of rupees. Following legal proceedings, both were declared fugitives. Ravindra Mohan's recent capture was part of an intensified police operation.
