Delhi Police have apprehended a 26-year-old man for allegedly defrauding a US resident through online impersonation, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

Pratosh Kumar, from Bihar, reportedly created a fake website mimicking Booking.com, deceiving the victim into revealing confidential information leading to a loss exceeding Rs 57,000. He posed as a Booking.com executive to gain trust, the police stated.

Investigations revealed the illicit funds were used to settle Kumar's credit card bills, providing a crucial clue. Digital evidence, including conversations used in the scam, and multiple mobile phones were seized.
