Kerala's LDF Reflects on Civic Poll Setback, Pledges Continued Public Welfare

T P Ramakrishnan, Convenor of Kerala's ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), reiterated the government's dedication to public welfare initiatives, addressing shortcomings highlighted by recent local body poll outcomes.

The LDF was disappointed by the electoral results, having not secured the anticipated verdict in the Local Self-Government Department (LSGD) polls. A detailed analysis of the electoral setbacks is underway.

Despite the setbacks, the LDF plans to persist with welfare projects, adapting strategies as needed. In the elections, the United Democratic Front (UDF) made substantial gains in Kerala, taking four of six municipal corporations, while the LDF managed to retain Kozhikode and split district panchayats with seven each.
