In a dramatic turn of events, Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of the Goa nightclub 'Birch by Romeo Lane', where 25 people perished in a fire on December 6, have been apprehended and produced in a Delhi court on Tuesday.
The duo, returned to India from Thailand, were sought for a transit remand by the Goa Police at the Patiala House Court. This follows their arrest overseas after an Interpol Blue Corner Notice facilitated their detention in Phuket.
The deportation, part of an expansive investigation, comes amid outrage over the disastrous event. Meanwhile, five others connected to the nightclub have already been arrested as scrutiny mounts over potential safety lapses.
