A recent operation across Karnataka's prisons has unearthed a trove of illicit contraband, as authorities confiscated numerous banned items within a span of 36 hours. The crackdown, orchestrated by Karnataka Director General of Police (Prisons) Alok Kumar, is part of a determined effort to weed out illegal activities within the prison system.

In Bengaluru, officials seized six mobile phones and four knives, while nine mobile phones and 11 SIM cards were discovered at the Mysuru facility. The Belagavi prison saw the uncovering of four mobile phones and 366 grams of ganja, reportedly thrown over the prison walls. Meanwhile, four mobile phones were retrieved from Mangaluru prison, and a single handset from Vijayapura prison.

Alok Kumar announced on social media platform 'X' that such robust actions will continue, aiming to create a secure environment and dismantle the network of contraband operations flourishing within the prison walls.
