Two individuals involved in a cow slaughter case were injured in a shootout with police as they were being transported to retrieve tools used in the crime, authorities reported on Wednesday.
The confrontation happened in the Parikshitgarh police jurisdiction when the suspects allegedly fired at the police. Officers retaliated, wounding Razzaq and his son Usman.
Both were hospitalized, while a police search led to the discovery of 10 kg of beef and arrests of seven individuals. Additional findings included illegal weapons and slaughter tools.
