Rajya Sabha Members Voice Infrastructure and Healthcare Concerns

In a recent Rajya Sabha session, members raised concerns over traffic congestion at railway crossings in Uttar Pradesh and inadequate healthcare for pregnant women in states like Jharkhand. Recommendations included building overbridges and improving the distribution of healthcare resources to ensure effective implementation of maternal health initiatives.

During a recent Rajya Sabha session, significant concerns were raised regarding infrastructure and healthcare. BJP member Sangeeta Balwant highlighted severe traffic congestion issues at various railway crossings across Uttar Pradesh. The congestion, exacerbated by prolonged gate closures, affects thousands of commuters daily.

To address these issues, Balwant proposed the construction of overbridges or underpasses in key areas such as Jamania, Dildar Nagar, and Bhadoura. Additionally, she pointed out the halting of the railway line extension from Ghazipur city to Mau, stressing its importance for regional development.

On the healthcare front, JMM member Mahua Maji criticized the unequal distribution of resources in the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, particularly for states like Jharkhand. She stressed the need for equitable and transparent resource allocation, underscoring the issue as a matter of constitutional responsibility and social justice.
