The national capital registered 8,965 burglaries in 2024, a substantial rise from 6,916 cases in 2023, representing a nearly 29.6% increase. This is part of a consistent upward trend, with burglaries at 6,189 in 2022 and 2,637 in 2021, highlighting a worrying 135% surge since 2021.
Authorities have responded with intensified area domination and night patrol measures, deploying additional police forces at high-crime locations. This strategic action includes special pickets, mobile patrols, and enhanced foot patrols to tackle the rising crime effectively.
