In a significant political move, Telangana Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar dismissed disqualification petitions against two BRS MLAs accused of defecting to the Congress. The decision continues a trend following December's dismissal of similar petitions against five other legislators.
The Speaker announced the dismissal of the petitions against Kale Yadaiah and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, bringing the focus to the three remaining pending cases against Kadiyam Srihari, Danam Nagendar, and Dr. M Sanjay Kumar.
This development comes even as the Supreme Court has issued a contempt notice to the Telangana Speaker for not adhering to its directive on disqualification pleas, a decision that could escalate political tensions between opposing factions.
