A Delhi court has approved a brief 15-minute meeting between Red Fort blast accused Dr Shaheen Saeed and her lawyer, Advocate Rahul Sahani, while she remains in NIA custody. This decision came after the accused moved an application requesting legal access.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna ruled in favor of the application, stating the need for legal counsel despite the accused being in agency custody. The meeting is to adhere to specified regulations and will take place on January 15, 2026.
The Red Fort blast, occurring on November 10, 2025, involved suicide bomber Umar-un-Nabi, resulting in 15 fatalities. The case has seen the arrest of nine individuals by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), including Dr Shaheen Saeed, whose custody was extended recently.
