An unfortunate accident claimed the life of lorry owner Shiju V S, who died after his own parked vehicle ran over him in Edakkara. The incident took place on Thursday around 8 pm when Shiju parked on a slope.

As Shiju walked home, the lorry unexpectedly rolled backward, hitting and subsequently running over him. Despite being taken to the hospital by local residents, Shiju succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are looking into whether a brake failure or a lapse in applying it could have led to the accident. A case of unnatural death is registered while investigations continue, police officials confirmed.
