A district court recently sentenced a woman and her lover to life in prison for the chilling murder of her minor son, case officials revealed. District and Sessions Judge Virender Kumar Singh found Munesh Devi and Satendra guilty of murder and conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code.

The court imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on each, according to District Government Counsel Rajeev Kumar Sharma. In this harrowing case, Munesh Devi strangled her son, Ashish, on August 7, 2022, aided by Satendra, and subsequently disposed of his body in a tubewell water tank at Kurthal village.

Initially, Munesh Devi misled investigators by lodging a false complaint regarding the murder. However, a police probe unearthed her and Satendra's involvement in the crime, leading to their arrest. The murder's motive was rooted in Ashish's opposition to his mother's illicit affair with Satendra.
