Renjitha Pulickan, a district leader from Mahila Congress, faced arrest on Friday for allegedly disclosing the identity of a rape survivor. The victim's complaint led to the arrest of expelled Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, according to police sources.
The Pathanamthitta Cyber Police detained Pulickan, hailing from Kottayam, for allegedly sharing the survivor's identity on social media linked to the third registered rape case against Mamkootathil. Police had initiated a case via the Cyber Operations Wing against those who unveiled the survivor's identity.
Initially elusive, Pulickan was eventually located by the police at a house in Kottayam and subsequently arrested in Pathanamthitta. Notably, she was previously implicated in a similar breach case regarding the first rape allegation against Mamkootathil, for which she received anticipatory bail.
