Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, visited the grieving family of a deceased NEET aspirant in Patna on Friday, demanding a re-investigation into her death.

Hours later, Maharashtra's DGP Vinay Kumar authorized the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the case.

The incident has sparked debates, as Kishor raised concerns over the initial police declaration of suicide, with new allegations suggesting possible sexual assault.

'Police had rushed to label it a suicide,' Kishor stated, urging a thorough investigation to bring justice to the victim's family.

The case gained significant public attention following massive protests and allegations of a cover-up related to perceived lapses in the early investigation.
