Two Naxalites, including a senior cadre leader, were neutralized in a skirmish with security forces on Saturday morning in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.
According to police officials, the encounter occurred in the forested northwest region, as a joint task force composed of the Special Task Force, District Reserve Guard, and CRPF's CoBRA unit, engaged in an anti-insurgence mission.
Reports state that this operation was informed by intelligence about the presence of Dilip Bedja, a key Maoist figure, in the area. The site yielded the bodies of the deceased insurgents and AK-47 rifles. Efforts continue to identify the second individual as search operations proceed.
