An IndiGo Airlines flight en route from Delhi to Bagdogra had to make an emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday morning after a bomb threat was reported, according to police officials.
Security measures were swiftly enacted, involving bomb disposal squads, security agencies, and airport authorities, who meticulously checked the flight. The aircraft carried 222 passengers, including eight infants, in addition to the pilots and crew members, all of whom were evacuated safely.
The alert originated at around 8:46 am by the Air Traffic Control regarding a bomb threat for IndiGo flight 6E-6650. In response, the plane was diverted, making a secure landing at 9:17 am. A handwritten note on a tissue paper reading 'Plane mein bomb' was discovered during initial checks, prompting further investigation by authorities.
