National Conference President Farooq Abdullah extended an invitation to displaced Kashmiri Pandits to return to their roots in the Valley, underscoring their rightful place in the region.

Despite his call, Abdullah expressed doubts about the willingness of the Pandit community to return, acknowledging that many have established new lives across India with stable employment and educational opportunities for their children.

Abdullah's remarks came on a day when the Kashmiri Pandit community observed January 19 as 'holocaust day,' marking their exodus in 1990 due to terrorist threats. Meanwhile, Pandits continue to demand a separate homeland for their return and recognition of their genocide through legislation.
