BRS MLA T Harish Rao has voiced strong criticism against the Telangana government, asserting that a notice for his appearance before the SIT is a mere ploy to divert public attention from corruption claims looming over the government, especially ahead of upcoming municipal elections.

Rao stated the notice was served promptly after he made accusations about corruption concerning tenders at the state-operated Singareni Collieries. He further criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, stating that this harassment recalls previous instances involving other BRS leaders like K T Rama Rao in the Formula E race case.

The Telangana Police SIT, led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, is delving into alleged phone tapping incidents from the preceding BRS tenure. The case has already seen the arrests of several police officers, including a suspended DSP, for their purported involvement in violating privacy for political ends.
