In a significant escalation, Israeli forces fired tear gas at a trade school operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem on Tuesday. This marks the second time the agency has been targeted in recent days.
Earlier, Israeli forces demolished parts of the main compound of UNRWA, an agency that serves Palestinian refugees. The latest confrontation occurred at a vocational school in Qalandia, located on the outskirts of Jerusalem, where more than 300 young refugees receive training in technology and welding.
The moves are the latest in Israel's sustained campaign against UNRWA. Israel accuses the agency of being infiltrated by militants, allegations that UNRWA has consistently denied.
