Crackdown on Poaching: Pangolin Scales Seized in Jharkhand

In a significant crackdown on poaching activities, officials in Jharkhand's Latehar district arrested a woman with 2 kg of pangolin scales. Her apprehension took place in the Baresand area on Tuesday, according to Local Forest Range Officer Nandkumar Mehta.
The operation, which stemmed from a tip-off, also resulted in the capture of two additional poachers who were found with a rifle in another forest area. Officer Mehta emphasized the ongoing efforts to curb illegal poaching, stating, "Frequent raids are being conducted to catch poachers in the Latehar forest region."
In recent developments, four more poachers were arrested near the Jharkhand-Bihar border with cheetal scales, underscoring the heightened vigilance and commitment to protecting local wildlife.
