A new chapter unfolds in the notorious solar scam saga as authorities register a fresh cheating case against Biju Radhakrishnan, a key figure in the scandal that jolted the UDF government in 2013. The complaint accuses Radhakrishnan and his associates of duping individuals under the pretense of facilitating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding for charitable purposes.
The case emerged after a directive from a magistrate's court led to its registration at the Kadavanthra police station on January 31. Allegations suggest that a Nilambur resident was misled into believing substantial CSR funds could be arranged, prompting police to name Nisha Peter, Berlin, Venugopal, and Radhakrishnan as accused parties.
Radhakrishnan's firm, NGO Help Foundation, was allegedly used as a facade to fleece the complainant who paid substantial money for CSR processing, ambulance purchase, and documentation. Despite the initial lack of transaction records delaying the FIR, investigative efforts are now focusing on tracking these financial dealings. The suspects are set to be interrogated as the probe deepens.
