Boeing Ends F-15 Fighter Jet Deal with Indonesia

Boeing has ceased production of F-15 fighter jets for Indonesia, ending a high-profile agreement aimed at boosting Jakarta's military capabilities. Boeing, the U.S. aircraft manufacturer, has announced it will no longer proceed with a deal to supply F-15 fighter jets to Indonesia. The decision concludes what was considered a landmark agreement for the expansion of Indonesia's military resources.

The deal, which involved 24 F-15EX jets and was signed in 2023, awaited approval from the U.S. government. Bernd Peters, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Boeing Defense, revealed the halt during the Singapore Airshow, stating the partnership with Indonesia is no longer active.

Peters declined to provide further information, advising that inquiries should be directed to the relevant U.S. and Indonesian governmental bodies. The implication of this decision on Indonesia's defense strategy remains unclear.
