In a bold move, members of the National Conference (NC) staged a protest outside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday, pressing for the restoration of statehood and cessation of harassment against Kashmiris in various parts of India.
The protestors, including NC MLAs, held placards reading 'Restore statehood and Constitutional guarantees' and 'Stop harassing Kashmiris outside J&K'. They raised slogans demanding urgent action on these issues. Minister Satish Sharma emphasized the importance of the dharna to reporters.
Amid the ongoing Assembly session, NC MLA Mubarak Gul and PDP MLA Wahid-ur-Rehman Para highlighted the significance of these concerns in the House.
