In a late-night operation, four individuals were apprehended on charges of peacock poaching in Rajasthan's Pali district. Forest department officials, during a routine patrol of the Kumbhalgarh range, discovered a peacock carcass along with hunting equipment inside the men's vehicle.

The arrest took place around 9 PM Tuesday when officials intercepted the car. Inside, they found gunpowder, lead pellets of various sizes, and four knives, which were presumably used in the illegal hunting of the protected bird.

The accused, identified as Sujal Valmiki, Lucky, Bunty, and Govind Solanki, were brought before a court on Wednesday. They have been remanded to judicial custody pending further investigation, according to official sources.
