In a move aimed at fostering dialogue, a senior French diplomat held talks with Russian officials in Moscow on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the discussions.

The source, however, withheld further details, noting only that the goal was to facilitate communication between the two countries.

The French presidency refrained from officially confirming the meeting but acknowledged that President Emmanuel Macron had emphasized technical-level discussions were taking place openly, in close cooperation with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy and major European colleagues.
