On Thursday, Mumbai Police arrested a fifth individual linked to the shooting at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence. Officials allege the suspects acted under the direction of Shubham Lonkar, an at-large member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Asaram Fasale, from Pune, was apprehended and is suspected of providing the weapon used in the crime.

The incident, which saw at least five rounds fired at Shetty's nine-storey building in Juhu, resulted in one bullet striking a gym window. While Fasale remains in custody until February 11, the shooter is yet to be captured. Authorities have linked all accused to Lonkar, who is also wanted in other high-profile cases, including attempts on the lives of politicians and celebrities.

In court proceedings, the defense argued against the necessity of extended custody, but the judge disagreed, citing the seriousness of the criminal conspiracy. Further investigations are underway, as police seek to apprehend additional suspects and unravel Lonkar's wider network of associates.
