The Delhi Traffic Police has unveiled a new application named 'Digital Lok Adalat' to expedite and simplify the resolution of traffic challans. Announced by officials on Saturday, this digital initiative is developed in collaboration with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
Aimed at reducing the procedural delays citizens face, the app addresses the challenges posed by the previous system, which often resulted in significant lags in updating notices. The platform allows for faster processing and provides real-time updates on challan status, ensuring that vehicle owners are informed via SMS notifications.
This digital solution is integrated with the virtual court system, streamlining operations and minimizing manual data entry errors. By improving efficiency and transparency in handling traffic-related legal proceedings, the initiative promises to clear the backlog of pending challans while simplifying procedures for all involved parties.
