Mob Justice: Tragic Lynching in Odisha's Ganjam District

In a tragic incident, Banadhar Pradhan, a 37-year-old man, was lynched in the Odisha's Ganjam district following allegations of theft. The incident unfolded in Sardula village, where villagers allegedly took the law into their own hands.

According to police reports, Pradhan, a resident of Kurumingia, was accused of looting from a locked house. While attempting to flee, he fell and injured his leg. It was then that villagers reportedly tied him to an electric pole and beat him, leading to his demise. Authorities discovered the victim's mobile phone and other items at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation into the motive behind the act and have detained 20 individuals. Heavy police presence remains in the area as many villagers have absconded. The forensic team is working closely with officials to ensure justice is served.
