DRI Nabs Drug Trafficker with Rs 10 Crore Worth of Heroin
A suspect, Sandeep from Delhi, was arrested by DRI officers in Lucknow with heroin valued over Rs 10 crore. Acting on intelligence, officials intercepted him during a bus journey from Kathmandu to Delhi. The drug was seized under the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigations continue.

A suspect identified as Sandeep from Delhi was apprehended by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Lucknow for allegedly trafficking heroin valued over Rs 10 crore in the international market, police revealed on Saturday.
Authorities acted on specific intelligence inputs and intercepted Sandeep during his journey on a bus traveling from Kathmandu to Delhi on Friday. The DRI team conducted constant surveillance and intervened in Lucknow for a thorough inspection.
During the search, officers discovered four packets containing 5,209 grams of a white powdery substance in the suspect's luggage. A field test on-site confirmed it as heroin. The seizure was carried out under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The accused is currently in custody as further investigation is underway.
